Cookie statement

This is a translation of our Dutch text. If the two differ, the Dutch version applies.

A cookie is a small text file that a website leaves in your browser. Below is exactly which ones we place, what for, and how long they stay. Not by category, but by name.

Without permission: four of them

These belong to things you set in motion yourself. The law calls those strictly necessary cookies; we do not have to ask for them, and without them the shop does not work.

CookieFor whatHow long
mandjeRemembers what is in your basket. It only appears when you add the first piece.30 days
bezoekerRemembers which pieces you saved with the heart, so your list is still there when you come back. It only appears with the first heart.1 year
themaRemembers whether you want the shop dark or light. It only appears once you switch that yourself at the bottom of the page.1 year
toestemmingRemembers what you choose below, so we do not have to ask again on every visit.6 months

mandje and bezoeker are a random number, nothing more. There is no name in them, no email address and nothing from which we could work out who you are. Both are HttpOnly, so no script can read them, and they do not travel to other websites.

Only with permission: statistics

We would like to know which pieces get looked at and by which route people find us. For that we use Google Analytics, and only if you say yes. If you say no, we do not load the script; there is then not one line of Google code in the page. If you say yes, these are added:

CookieFor whatHow long
_gaFrom Google Analytics. Tells visitors apart by a random number.2 years
_ga_<measurement ID>From Google Analytics. Keeps track of the state of your visit.2 years

What we see in the reports are numbers: how many people looked at a page, from which country, through which search engine. No names and no addresses. We have switched off ad personalisation and Google Signals in our settings, and we do not share our Analytics data with Google for other products. We keep the data about individual visits for 14 months; after that only the totals remain.

What we measure once you have said yes: which page you look at, which piece you look at, what you put in your basket, when you start checking out and what an order finally came to. That last one without your name or address: an order number and an amount travel along, nothing else.

Google also processes this data outside the European Union. That happens on the basis of the adequacy decision the European Commission took for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google is our processor in this; the arrangements for that are in the data processing terms that come with Google Analytics.

What we do not do

  • No advertising cookies, no tracking pixels from social media, no remarketing.
  • No fonts, maps or videos loaded from someone else's server. Everything you see here comes from our own server, including the payment method logos.
  • No cookies before you have said yes below. Clicking a banner away does not count as yes with us; there is deliberately no cross on it.

Your choice

You may change your mind, as often as you like. Here is what currently applies, and this is how you switch it:

You currently allow essential cookies only.

After six months we ask again, because permission given years ago says little. You can also always delete or block cookies yourself through your browser settings. You will then lose your basket and your saved pieces; ordering will no longer work after that.

Questions

Would you like to know exactly what we hold about you, or have something deleted? That is in our privacy statement, and you may always email us at info@nextdoorvintage.nl.

May we count visits?

We use Google Analytics to see which pieces get looked at. Say no and the shop works exactly the same; we simply measure nothing. What exactly we place
